My career began in an unusual way, combining two seemingly distinct worlds. On the one hand, I worked for the Government of Canada, where I quickly realized the slowness of processes and the lukewarm reception given to innovation. On the other hand, since I was 18, I have been passionate about trading stocks and derivatives, a sector where emotions can often alter judgment. Inspired by renowned investors like Ray Dalio, I began developing principles and algorithms for trading, which led me to programming, data analysis and eventually machine learning.
After leaving the public service, I joined a large bank in the private wealth management sector. There, I observed that many of the wealthiest people in Quebec were entrepreneurs and SME owners. This realization showed me that despite their success, many of these SMEs did not have the resources necessary to leverage and optimize their data competitively.
Driven by the vision of democratizing access to data technologies for SMEs, I decided to found Innovation Kapital K. My goal? Enable SMEs to leverage their data to innovate effectively, thus ensuring them a competitive place in their sector. This initiative highlights my commitment to accessible innovation and building business capabilities through digital transformation.
